Our story begins in 1987, when I was chatting with one of my clients about my husband and my search for a hotel where we would stay four our 9th Anniversary. She began to rave about her experience at the Best Western Beach Terrace Inn.
After receiving a brochure, we knew it was exactly what we had been searching for.
A few days later we booked a reservation for the honeymoon suite. When we arrived the property was clean, and the staff was extremely courteous and professional. When we walked into our suite, the ocean view from the terrace took our breath away. The room was comfortable and cozy. The fireplace, the small mood lights around the base of the bed, and the private room with the Jacuzzi tub all added to the suite's special ambiance. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Inn and in Carlsbad. We left knowing that we would celebrate many more anniversaries in Carlsbad.
And we did.
We returned to the Beach Terrace Inn at least 8 times, enjoying many anniversaries, with family and friends joining us many times along the way. One year, my husband and I had the honor of bringing our elderly grandmother, who had never stayed in a hotel where she could view the ocean from the balcony of her room. What a joy it was to see her sitting on her terrace, looking at the beauty of the waves and experiencing the calm and peaceful serenity of the ocean.
During those years we witnessed three name changes from "Best Western Beach Terrace Inn", to "Beach Terrace Inn" and to the current name "Beach Terrace Carlsbad Hotel" We also witnessed at least three renovation transformations.
The hotel was getting younger, and we were getting older.
Our last visit was in May 2022. With our family and friends we celebrated our Forty-Fifth Anniversary at the Hotel. We are now in our 70s, and I truly believe that our stays at your hotel added to our longevity of our marriage.
The Inn gave us a place to pause, relax, and rejuvenate in an atmosphere that temporary quieted the demands of the world. No other hotel holds the kind of memories that are forever a part of our story like the Beach Terrace Inn.
It has been a part of our history and will forever be etched in our hearts.
