With more than 30 years of hospitality experience, Kent has spent much of his career helping guests discover the best of San Diego County and the Carlsbad coast. As General Manager of Beach Terrace, he is passionate about creating memorable guest experiences, building a strong team culture, and ensuring every stay reflects the warm, welcoming spirit that has defined the property for generations. When he's not at the hotel, you'll likely find Kent enjoying the coastal lifestyle that makes Carlsbad so special. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys boating, water skiing, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding, and running along the beach. His favorite thing about Carlsbad? The walkability, local charm, and vibrant energy of Carlsbad Village.
Carl Manlantao
HOTEL OPERATIONS MANAGER
Carl brings extensive hospitality experience to Beach Terrace, with a strong background in the Carlsbad, Oceanside, and North San Diego County markets. As Hotel Operations Manager, he leads the Front Desk and Guest Services teams, ensuring every guest feels welcomed from the moment they arrive. Known for his personalized approach, Carl is passionate about creating memorable stays and thoughtful touches that turn first-time visitors into returning guests. When he's not at Beach Terrace, Carl is usually planning his next adventure, exploring new destinations, or enjoying Disneyland as a Magic Key holder.
Renier Milan
VICE PRESIDENT OF HOTELS, TOBO INVESTMENTS
With more than 35 years of hospitality experience, including over two decades in the greater San Diego market, Renier provides strategic leadership for TOBO Investments' portfolio of hotels, including Beach Terrace. He is passionate about building exceptional teams, creating memorable guest experiences, and preserving the unique character that makes each property special. Known for his entrepreneurial spirit and keen eye for design and detail, Renier believes great hospitality is rooted in authentic connections and lasting memories. When he's not visiting properties, you'll often find him exploring Carlsbad's culinary scene, from local seafood and artisanal bakeries to hidden gems and Michelin-starred dining.
Kelsey Prince Rocha
AREA DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
With more than 13 years of marketing experience, Kelsey leads marketing strategy for a portfolio of hospitality properties, including Beach Terrace. Her background spans digital marketing, social media, public relations, content creation, photography, website management, and brand development. Having worked in both agency and in-house roles, she brings a passion for storytelling and a deep appreciation for the unique experiences that make each destination memorable. A San Diego native and recent mom, Kelsey loves discovering local restaurants, events, scenic trails, and family-friendly experiences throughout Southern California. Through her writing, she enjoys sharing local insights, hidden gems, and inspiration for making the most of a stay in Carlsbad.
